Meet Molly. She’s a dog with an incredible story of hope, survival, and sloppy, wet kisses. Her story began in Baltimore, where the unlucky pooch was hit by a train. She was badly wounded from the impact, and she lost a leg and part of her tail, not to mention a ton of blood.
Laying on the side of the tracks, Molly’s future looked grim. That is, until a police officer named Kevin McMullen came to her rescue. Despite her injuries, Molly was so happy to get help that she started licking and kissing Kevin immediately.
Shortly after their introduction, Kevin took Molly to the Baltimore Animal Rescue Center and Safety (BARCS), where she was treated and her leg sewn up. Remarkably, Molly healed well and was walking around and wagging her tail just two weeks after the accident.
Once she is fully recovered, Molly will be put up for adoption. While it would be fitting to have her go to Officer McMullen, the fact is that he already has dogs and cannot take her. Nonetheless, she will find a great home where her disability won’t hold her back. Thanks to the actions of Officer McMullen, Molly will have a long and happy life.
