His name is Corduroy. Born on August 1st, 1989, he celebrated his 27th birthday earlier this year... which is 121 in cat years! Adopted from a shelter in Oregon, when his owner Ashley Okura was only 7 years old, the half Maine Coon cat is still going strong.
Corduroy holds the Guinness World Records title for the world`s oldest living cat, but he still jumps onto counters and enjoys his time outdoors.

Despite being on a special low-protein diet to protect his kidneys, Corduroy is in a remarkably good health.
How long do cats normally live? PetMD says about 15 years, which is pretty good for pets. Healthy cats that remain active and keep a decent weight with diet can live fairly long lives. Loving families in a good household also help. Of course, the most important aspect to living a long life is a lot of love between a cat and a human family.
