People took to the internet to remark that BenBen is, perhaps, the saddest looking shelter cat in the world. The kitty came to an animal shelter with a crushed spine, a cauliflower ear and several lacerations. It seemed this kitty would never get adopted into a forever home. He had a rough life, and he received his injuries after a large animal attacked him, according to vets.
One family took BenBen home, but they returned him very soon. The shelter deemed BenBen un-adoptable, and vets determined that he may never walk again. Little did BenBen know that his life would change for the much, much better when a loving human family came in and took a chance on this lovable furball.
That’s when a woman who works at an ER vet clinic took immediate steps to adopt BenBen. She and her boyfriend picked up the kitty just one day before his scheduled euthanasia. Vets at the shelter warned that BenBen didn’t eat or drink much at the shelter.

After just an hour in his new home, BenBen’s personality got better and he looked more cheerful. He was full of purring and cuddles, even as he adjusted to life with the couple’s cats they already had in the house.
BenBen proved the vets wrong. He walks, runs and even jumps short distances now! He spends a lot of his time supervising things around the house. He watches his owners eat, checks out his cat siblings and cuddles like crazy.
