Thousands of pet parents worldwide are blaming the prescription Bravecto for injuries to their pets, while reports from the FDA show that the drug is suspected of causing hundreds of deaths.
Bravecto is a chewable medication designed to keep fleas and ticks at bay for three months with a single dose. While it's obviously powerful, those who have lost an animal are calling it deadly.
"I believe that Bravecto killed my dog," Donna White of Buckhead told local reporters. "That's the only thing I changed his entire life."
JoJo, Donna's dog, vomited after the first two doses; a known side effect. It wasn't until the third dose that things became life threatening. Twelve hours after receiving his final Bravecto chewable, he was rushed to the veterinarian but it was too late.
Donna said it was the worst day of her life.
Chris Webber also administered Bravecto to his dog, Truck, but instead of dying immediately like JoJo, he suffered for weeks after his third dose. Eventually, "He put his head in the bowl, turned back and looked at me and collapsed at my feet," Chris said.
Truck was euthanized on Thanksgiving Day.Source: Wsbtv | News10
